Amel Djouadi
Born and raised in North Africa, Amel Djouadi has been educated in her native language Arabic. She is also fluent in French and has a rudimentary understanding of German. She has a Baccalaureate in Arabic Language and Literature “Al Adab Al Arabee”, Bachelor and master’s degree in Political Science, with a minor in Public Administration from the University of Algiers. Master’s in liberal arts from the University of Arkansas Little Rock USA, with focus on schools management, teaching and education. Her native Arabic fluency made her Arabic teaching experience successful in both suburban and urban school districts for both children and adults. One of her main areas of interest is developing new curricula. Amel’s welcoming style and passion for teaching motivate students to hound excellence in what they do, also her skills to create a complete and dynamic environment for learning helped bring different cultures together.
Her attachment and fascination with the Arabic language led her to teach several class levels in North Africa and the Gulf region. She is a Senior lecturer of Arabic and French in the World Languages & Cultures department. Amel wishes through her teaching to keep her deep connection with the Arabic language as well as to relate to students the cultural and social nuances that she thinks make her language so unique and remarkable. She enjoys painting, interior decorating, reading/ writing about Philosophy and Novels in Arabic and French also writing Arabic Calligraphy that she introduced to her students at the University of Tennessee.
