Arab Studies Minor
The Arab Studies minor consists of 18 hours.
Chinese Minor
The Chinese minor consists of 17 hours.
French and Francophone Studies Minor
The French and Francophone Studies minor consists of 18 hours in courses numbered FREN 333 and above.
German Minor
The minor consists of 18 hours of German courses at the 300 level and above. Students are encouraged but not required to take GERM 321 and GERM 322. No more than six hours from GERM 323, GERM 350, GERM 363, GERM 370*, or GERM 423 may count towards the minor; GERM 332 does not count towards the minor.
Hebrew Minor
The minor consists of 18 hours of coursework in Hebrew and Middle-East related courses.
Hispanic Studies Minor
Minors who study a semester or more abroad must take SPAN 312 prior to studying abroad and at least two additional 300/400-level courses in Spanish at the University of Tennessee (prior to or after studying abroad). Students whose level of proficiency in Spanish is superior as defined by the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines may substitute a 400-level course for SPAN 312 with consent of the department. SPAN 311 and SPAN 312 are not available to native Spanish speakers or Spanish/English bilinguals, who should instead take SPAN 309 and an additional 300/400-level course with consent of the department. Notes: SPAN 401, SPAN 402, and SPAN 465 do not count toward the minor. SPAN 311 may not be taken after completion of SPAN 312.
Italian Minor
The Italian minor consists of 18 hours.
Japanese Minor
The minor in Japanese consists of at least 18 hours of Japanese courses.
Portuguese Minor
The minor in Japanese consists of at least 18 hours of Japanese courses.
Russian Literature in Translation Minor
The minor consists of 18 hours of coursework in Russian literature or culture, taught in English.
Russian Studies Minor
The minor consists of 18 hours of Russian courses.
