Christopher Pike
At UTK since 2020, Dr. Christopher Pike completed his PhD at Northwestern University in 2019. He teaches language, literature, and culture courses at all levels, and oversees the first-year Russian language program. His research centers on ecological thought and philosophy in the Russian literary and cultural tradition. He is interested in the evolution of attitudes toward the natural world over time, how these attitudes are expressed in the Russian literary and visual arts, their subsequent effect on cultural perspectives, and their relevance to contemporary issues of environmental degradation. He previously taught at Hobart and William Smith Colleges (2019-2020).
