Bokeuim Yeom
Bokeuim Yeom received her M.A. in Korean Language & Literature from Sookmyung Women’s University in South Korea in 2016. She has taught Korean at Pellissippi State Community College in the U.S., Sangmyung University in South Korea, SRM University in India, and the King Sejong Institute in India. She also worked as a Korean Immigration & Integration Program coordinator at Sookmyung Women’s University.
Her thesis, “The Effects of Different Types of Pre-reading Activities on Reading Comprehension,” focused on how pre-activities of four skills of language affect reading comprehension. She also participated in the development of a Korean language workbook for immigrants in South Korea. She is interested in teaching tools and how these tools can be used in the classroom.
She teaches Korean language and culture classes at the University of Tennessee. She would like to introduce Korean culture through the media and how these media show Korean culture in various ways.
