The World Languages & Cultures curriculum takes students beyond the classroom, immersing them in language and culture to foster a new generation of global citizens.
Purpose
The Department of World Languages & Cultures develops language proficiency to foster critical thinking through cultural, literary, media, and linguistic analysis. The many faculty and student accomplishments in research, teaching, and service to the community build a solid foundation for exciting professional futures by informed, engaged citizens.
Offerings
We offer instruction in 11 languages, providing students the opportunity to become true global citizens. Students can earn a B.A. in World Languages & Cultures with a concentration in French, German, Italian, Russian, or Spanish. We also offer a concentration in Language and World Business, available for all these languages plus Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, and Portuguese. Classes are also available in Hebrew and Korean.
