Oscar Rivera-Rodas
Dr. Oscar Rivera-Rodas’ research interests include Latin American literature and culture; thought and letters in colonial, postcolonial, modernity, postmodernity; Hispanic American periods; history of ideas, and philosophy of history through Latin American literature; discourse and textual theory.
He is a recipient of the Mexican Academy’s Premio Centenario, an international award in literary criticism; the International Prize for Literary Essay, National Institute of Fine Arts (INBA), Mexico, on Carlos Pellicer’s poetry; and the National Prize for Poetry, Bolivia. In addition, he is founder and chair of Jornadas Internacionales de Teatro Latinoamericano, Puebla, México, since 1993 and Jornadas Internacionales de Poesía Latinoamericana, Puebla, México.
