Betsabé Navarro
Betsabé Navarro is a Teaching Professor of Spanish (formerly Distinguished Lecturer) at UT. She studied English at the University of Granada (Spain, 2007), she earned her first Master’s degree in Pedagogy of Teaching English as a Foreign Language at the University of Alcalá de Henares (Madrid, 2009) and a second Master’s degree in Spanish and Latin American Literature at the University of Barcelona (2020). Additionally, she completed her Ph.D. in English Studies (Literature and Cultural Studies) at the University of Santiago de Compostela (2015).
She has been a Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish at the University of Mississippi (2015-2018), and a Teaching Associate of Spanish at Brown University (2012-2013).
She promotes creative educational initiatives such as the Hispanic Film Festival at the University of Tennessee, and the making and editing of documentary films with students. She also directed a campus-wide theatre production of four plays in Spanish at the University of Mississippi (2017). Her publications focus on Second Language Acquisition, Literature and Cultural Studies.
