Minor in Portuguese
The Portuguese program at the University of Tennessee offers beginner and intermediate-level language instruction, as well as upper division studies focusing on Brazilian Portuguese, culture, literature, and cinema. A Portuguese minor is available at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Portuguese is one of the world’s top 10 languages, spoken by some 200 million people worldwide. Studying Portuguese will open new worlds in Latin America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. Students interested in Global Studies and Environmental Issues would also benefit from Portuguese.
The minor in Portuguese consists of at least 18 hours of Portuguese courses.
