Italian majors, especially those with a concentration in Language and World Business, have a great opportunity to find a job with a U.S. or an Italian company either stateside or in Italy. Students who take advantage of our study abroad programs increase their career opportunities, since most companies prefer employees with the resourcefulness normally associated with life abroad.

Major Requirements

(World Languages and Cultures Major, BA – Italian Concentration)

Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures Major, BA – Italian Concentration The Italian major consists of 30 hours in courses numbered 211 and above.
Major Requirements Complete:
ITAL 211 – Intermediate Italian 3 Credit Hours
ITAL 212 – Intermediate Italian 3 Credit Hours *
ITAL 341 – Intermediate Grammar, Composition and Conversation 3 Credit Hours *
ITAL 342 – Intermediate Grammar, Composition and Conversation 3 Credit Hours *

Select 24 hours:
ITAL 314 – Highlights of Italian Civilization, Culture, and Identity 3 Credit Hours *
ITAL 315 – Special topics in Italian History, Literature, and Culture 3 Credit Hours
ITAL 400 – The Italian Renaissance through Popular Culture 3 Credit Hours
ITAL 401 – Dante and Medieval Culture 3 Credit Hours *
ITAL 402 – Petrarch and Boccaccio 3 Credit Hours
