Movies/Media

Jump to how to view a movie

Media is one of the most influential forces in our lives and an understanding of international media is crucial for success in a global, digital culture. Not only does the LRC offer a wide and growing range of media resources for foreign language exposure, practice and study, but our programs and research strive to introduce new ways of thinking about media and how to use it. Scroll down to see what resources we have to share.

All movies in the LRC International Media Collection are available for viewing via our PLEX server. Please submit a ticket to the LRC to request remote access to this server.

In addition to the expanding collection of LRC media used for academic purposes by WLC instructors and available to students via the PLEX server, the LRC subscribes to streaming film sites that hold hundreds of international film titles showcased in WLC courses and accompanied by moderated discussion.

Teachers can check out Amazon Echo devices to access international music via Amazon Music Unlimited, and students can listen to the same music via the Echo or FireTV devices in several rooms of the LRC.

We also have a space on Vimeo for the WLC community to house video projects that is an easier, faster, and more flexible alternative to Digital Media Services.

Our Vimeo

If you find that you have any other media needs, or if you have any questions about how to do what you need to do, a student worker is located in AMB 1D, ready to assist you. If not, you can find Shaun or Doug, who will be equally eager to answer your questions.
