German Placement Exam Instructions

The German Placement Exam has two parts; please follow these steps in order. You will not receive a prerequisite override if either part is incomplete.

Part One

Please read through this entire page before clicking the Exam button.

1. First, take the WebCAPE German Test.
2. Completely fill out the the pre-test survey and then click “Begin Test”.
3. At the end of the exam, you will receive your score. Please take note of the score, as you will need it to complete the second portion of the exam.

Part Two

Next, take the German Oral and Written Assessment. Select the level that corresponds to your score on the WebCAPE Test. Please read through this entire page before clicking any links.

• Click here if your score on the WebCAPE Exam is between 0 and 238
• Click here if your score on the WebCAPE Exam is between 239 and 334
• Click here if your score on the WebCAPE Exam is between 335 and 420
• Click here if your score on the WebCAPE Exam is between 421 and 454
• Click here if your score on the WebCAPE Exam is between 455 and 556
• Click here if your score on the WebCAPE Exam is 557 and above
